Boat Trip - Sights at lake Starnberg

The best way to get to know lake Starnberg is a boat trip around the lake. From the sundeck of the boats you can see the alps and nice views to old mansions on the waterside. On this page you will find a selection of sights near the landing stages on lake Starnberg. There are nine landing stages around the lake:
Starnberg

In Starnberg you can make a nice walk along the lakepromenade and the Maximillianstrasse with its beautiful shops. The church St. Josephs is also worth seeing and offers a nice view over the lake to the mountains.
Possenhofen

The landing stage is a 10 minutes walk away from our apartment in Poecking. Worth seeing the castle of of Sissi, where empress Elisabeth of Austria grows up, and the Roseninsel with a beautiful rosegarden and small residence of king Maximillian and King Ludwig II.
Tutzing
In Tutzing you can visit the Guggerhof build in the 16th century and the church St. Josef. Also nice is a walk on the lakeside along the Kustermann Promenade.
Bernried

Worth seeing is the bavarian historic towncenter and the Museum of Phantasy with it´s famous collection of expressionism from the art association "Blaue Reiter".
Seeshaupt

The southern end of lake Starnberg. Recommended is a visit at the restaurant Lido with a Biergarten and the possibilty to take a bath in the lake.
Leoni

Worth a visit is the Bismarck tower near Assenhausen, build in 1899, with a nice landscape of the mountains. Recommended is a two hour walk along the waterside to the Votiv-Church in Berg.
Berg

At castle Berg king Ludwig II. spend his childhood and the last days of his life. Worth seeing are the Votiv Church and the cross in lake Starnberg. Both were build in memorial of king Ludwig II and the place of his unexplained death.
